UNIONDALE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Police are looking for two groups of people behind two separate robberies at Long Island's Roosevelt Field mall.
In the first robbery, a 2023 gray GMC Yukon and a 2023 white GMC Sierra parked at the mall were taken just before 11 p.m. Sunday. The combined value of the two cars was estimated to be more than $150,000.
The vehicles were being stored at this location on behalf of a GMC dealership.
In the second heist, five people, an unknown number of suspects, walked into Ethan Jordan Jewelers inside the mall on Tuesday at 4 p.m., according to police.
Two women in the group began selecting various items from the store displays.
The group then diverted the sales clerk's attention, and the two women concealed nearly $140,000 in merchandise and removed it from the store without permission or payment.
Investigations into both robberies are ongoing.
