MONTCLAIR, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A deer that got its head stuck in a plastic pumpkin was rescued by animal control officers in New Jersey this week.

“Montclair Township Animal Control Officers received a few calls about a deer running around with a plastic pumpkin stuck on its head,” the shelter wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Video shows two officers, Michele and Shaune, working to remove the plastic pumpkin from the deer’s head after they captured it with a net.

After a brief struggle and some kicking by the deer, the two officers were able to free the critter, who is seen running off into the woods unharmed.

“Well, there you go,” Michele said. “So we’ll need another net, but at least the deer’s free.”
