VIDEO: Gov. Phil Murphy, first lady Tammy Murphy get 1st COVID-19 vaccine doses

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Phil Murphy and first lady Tammy Murphy received their first COVID-19 vaccine doses on Friday.

The governor and his wife got vaccinated at the Atlantic City Convention Center, one of the state's vaccine megasites, on camera early Friday afternoon, a video posted by his office shows.


"Boom!" Murphy could be heard saying after receiving the Pfizer shot.

Murphy, who is 63 years old, became eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine on April 5, when the state expanded eligibility to people ages 55 and older, as well as to people ages 16 and older with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

All New Jerseyans ages 16 and up will become eligible for vaccines on April 19.
