NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Severe thunderstorm and flash flood watches were in effect for New York City on Monday, with damaging wind possible.
A flash flood watch was issued for the five boroughs through 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to AccuWeather. A severe thunderstorm watch, meanwhile, was in effect for both New York City and New Jersey until 11 p.m. on Monday.
The showers and thunderstorms predicted to move through Monday night had the potential to bring locally damaging winds, according to AccuWeather. Monday night was expected to see a low of 70 degrees.

Tuesday is set to be partly cloudy, with humidity on tap, a high of 77 degrees and another shower and thunderstorm possible.
Wednesday is expected to be warm and humid, with clouds, sun and a high of 86 degrees. An afternoon thunderstorm could be heavy and gusty.
