NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A few days after a nor'easter dropped several inches of snow on the New York City area, another round is in the forecast to kick off a chilly and windy Presidents Day weekend.

Friday night's snow event won't be as consequential as Tuesday's snowstorm, which dropped 3.2 inches of snow in Central Park—the most recorded in the park from a single storm since January 2022. Areas of New Jersey and Long Island measured 6-12 inches in what was the snowiest winter storm of the season so far.

A coating to an inch of snow is expected in the five boroughs, Long Island and the northern suburbs Friday night into early Saturday, according to AccuWeather. New Jersey will see higher amounts, with 1 to 3 inches in the forecast for areas south of Interstate 80.

Before the storm arrives, Friday is sunny and cold. While the high will be 43 degrees in Midtown, winds will push RealFeels down into the 20s much of the day. Lows will dip below freezing during the snowstorm overnight.

The brisk, blustery weather will continue throughout the weekend, with a high of 37 on Saturday and 40 on Sunday.

A mix of sun and clouds is expected both days, though a late-day snow shower is also possible Saturday.

Presidents Day Monday will breezy and a bit milder with plenty of sunshine. The high will be 44.

Temps will turn milder Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s under sunny skies.
