
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman was critically injured after a shooting in a Long Island bar early Sunday, authorities said.
The incident happened in Outfield Pub at 168 Carleton Avenue in East Islip around 1:10 a.m., officials said.
A man approached another man inside of the bar and pressed a gun against his body. After a brief altercation between the two, the gun was discharged, according to police.
The woman, who was a bystander, was struck in the neck while one of the men had a laceration to his head, cops said.
The shooting suspect fled the scene. Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The man was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
