NEW JERSEY (1010 WINS) – A dead woman's body was found floating in a lagoon in New Jersey on Sunday, prosecutors announced.
Officers from the Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a residence on North Boom Street in Little Egg Harbor at around 7:45 a.m. after reports were made about a woman's body floating on the lagoon behind the house, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
Police then removed the body of the "deceased, elderly" woman from the water, Billhimer said.
Prosecutors believe that the woman drowned and announced that the death did not look suspicious.
"This apparent drowning is currently under investigation," Billhimer said. "While tragic, the death of this female does not appear to be suspicious at this time."
