Is there beef between Boomer and Carton? 'Sorry, there is no feud'

According to some sources outside WFAN, there is beef between our former morning show co-hosts, Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason, over a joke Boomer made when flooding caused Gregg Giannotti to be late getting on the air on Tuesday morning.

“So I’m glad you made it, and you weren’t arrested. Usually, that’s what happens when a partner doesn’t show up,” Boomer said, referencing Carton’s 2017 arrest that caused chaos inside WFAN the morning it happened.

Craiggy of course replied, saying, “I do have a receipt now, and one day, when it’s least expected…I will remember, because I never forget,” and when a caller told Boomer about that Thursday morning, this is what Boomer said:

“They heard it, of course they did. We listen to them, they listen to us. Well I don’t know if Craig does anymore, because he’s doing some show somewhere. I’m not really sure where it is, but he’s doing some show somewhere in the morning.”

Apparently, everyone thought the sniping back and forth was the byproduct of legit heat between B&C, knowing that Craig “knows how to hold a grudge,” but fear not: on Friday, The Booms called in to Carton & Roberts to squash that notion.

“He and I are the only people that understand that for 15 years, part of our relationship has been busting each others’ chops,” Craig said right before Boomer called in.

Boomer had to jump in with a joke about offering Craig some extra TVs to watch football this Sunday as long as he doesn’t sell them (a callback to a Ford Raptor Booms once gave Craig that he ended up selling), playing on Evan gifting Craig a PlayStation 4.

“I should’ve got him a lease on the Ford Raptor, instead of just giving it to him outright with the title,” Boomer joked.

But then, we got down to business: squashing beef.

“There is no feud, and like I said this morning: I don’t have receipts, I have bills, you know what I mean?” Boomer said. “Those bills need to be paid, and then I can get the receipts.”

“They take so many things out of context between me and you,” Craig replied. “What people don’t want to understand is that Boomer and I have a history together; maybe you and Boomer don’t do it, or we don’t do it with Gregg, but we bust each others’ chops. But, I want nothing but success for him and the guys in the morning, and he wants the same for us. People take shots at each other in a playful manner around here and they take it out of context…it’s just stupid.”

Boomer agreed, and then laid out how he’s happy for his friend’s new morning show, even if it is technically competition (although Boomer and Gio don't consider it as such).

“It is stupid, and didn’t you come to me six months ago and tell me you were going to have a show on FS1?” Boomer said, to which Craig confirmed that Esiason was the first to know, and never said anything negative about it. “Exactly, 100 percent (I want you to be successful). I know you do hold grudges, and there are surely slings and arrows coming my way, but that’s part of our relationship. I love you and your family, and I want you to do everything you possibly can do to get your life back on track.”

And as for the initial report, we'll just let Craig put the cherry on the sundae.

"Just another case of shoddy reporting, which is what they're best at, by an outlet that doesn't like me."
