Boomer and Gio were flying high during Monday’s show after New York teams swept a busy Sunday, including the Rangers completing a sweep of the Capitals and the Knicks taking a huge game four on the road against the Sixers.
But there was still plenty of frustration with Joel Embiid, who once again became the center of controversy after replay seemed to suggest that the Sixers star intentionally stomped on Josh Hart’s leg when Hart was on the ground after a shot attempt in game four.
“If the NBA can’t look at those videos of Embiid and what he’s doing and not suspend him, I don’t know what to tell you,” Boomer said. “It really is pathetic.”
Gio says Embiid is looking like a desperate and dirty player that is realizing he won’t be able to beat the Knicks, and his reputation is being sacrificed in the process.
“It’s like a boxer who is getting his ass kicked but hasn’t been knocked out yet, and knows he’s gonna lose the fight, and starts fighting dirty,” Gio said. “He’s frustrated, and the only way he can get any sort of revenge back is to be dirty, because he can’t beat you clean.
“His reputation, in my opinion, is taking a tremendous hit in this series. He looks like a punk. He’s this close to being the next Draymond Green. That’s how bad it’s been.”
