According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Knicks have made it clear that they are willing to trade three players from the group of Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, and Evan Fournier, along with two or three first-round picks, for Joel Embiid.
Boomer and Gio's reaction to the reigning MVP coming to New York in a blockbuster deal? Thanks, but no thanks.
"You got your young players here. You developed them, they've come along nicely, they got you to the playoffs…let's wait and see what happens this season, and maybe they can make a trade for somebody midseason," Boomer said. "As good as Joel Embiid is, is that gonna make a difference for the Knicks right now if they trade away half their team?"
Gio was in full agreement.
"It's crazy to say, sitting here and saying that I don't want the reigning MVP, but I don't," Gio said. "Embiid had a tremendous year and won the MVP, and I'm just thinking he's not the guy."
