Boomer wasn’t in the best of moods on Tuesday, reacting to his Rangers looking overmatched in a game seven loss to the Devils at The Rock.

For Boomer, the blame should be put on the players that were expected to lead the Blueshirts through another postseason run.

“I was sick to my stomach watching this last night,” Boomer said. “To have some of your best players on this team that you love and appreciate play the way they did last night, with the lack of effort…when I think about this game, I think about [Vladimir] Tarasenko, [Chris] Kreider, and [Mika] Zibanejad all -3 or -4.

“Artemi Panarin, I don’t even know if he was in uniform last night.”

For Boomer, there was no blame to be placed outside of his own team. The Rangers were outplayed, and they have nobody to blame but themselves.

“Right out of the gate last night, it just showed how much faster the Devils were and how much more they wanted it,” Boomer said. “There was no ‘Screw the Rangers’ button. There are no excuses. The Devils just played harder and wanted it more.”
