Garrett Wilson expressed frustration with the Jets offense as a whole after Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, telling reporters “I’m tired of this” after another game with no touchdowns for Gang Green.
Boomer says the star wide receiver needs to take a look in the mirror before venting about the unit as a collective.
“I would just button it up, man,” Boomer said. “You dropped a key pass in this game, you threw a wide open reverse pass into the stands. Just button up and just do your job, man. That’s all it is. It’s that simple. Just like the great Bill Belichick says it all the time, just do your job.
“You don’t have to be the spokesperson for the team. You don’t have to be telling everybody how frustrated you are, because the entire building is frustrated. The entire offense is frustrated.”
Wilson didn’t single out any teammates or hint at frustration towards any teammate, but Boomer still would have liked to have heard more accountability on Wilson’s part when it came to opportunities that he missed during the game.
“When there were two plays that needed to be made, you didn’t make them,” Boomer said. “So before you start bitching and complaining about everybody else, he’s a part of that. He needs to say that. ‘I need to make the catch, I need to make the pass.’”
