Boomer: Julius Randle and his 'crazy mood swings' can never be Knicks leader

After watching Julius Randle in game four, Boomer has had enough with the Knicks' two-time All-Star.

Randle's talent is undeniable, but Boomer says his mental lapses in games is not worth the headache for New York.

"Anybody who has watched the Knicks over the last three years know that he's completely unpredictable when it comes to the mental stability to be a leader," Boomer said. "The leader is the guy who shows up every single day and is the same person every single day…whoever the leader is, you know who that person is. That's why Aaron Judge was given the captaincy for the Yankees…he does not have the mood swings that Julius Randle has."

For Boomer, Jalen Brunson is becoming the Knicks' leader, because Randle doesn't have what it takes to lead, as he showed again on Monday with more breakdowns on defense, more extended arguments with officials, and another New York loss.

"Julius Randle has these crazy mood swings where you just want to turn the TV off when he starts doing his mental collapse on the court in front of our eyes," Boomer said. "It's frustrating because he's a talented basketball player, but sometimes his mind goes haywire on him in the middle of the game."
