C-Mac can’t believe the Falcons haven’t locked down Bill Belichick as their head coach yet, and he says the longer it drags on, the more the possibility arises that the legendary coach takes a year off, which could be a scary reality for Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen.
“If the Giants have another season under Schoen and Daboll where it’s a disaster, and they only win six games, and we hear more about how difficult it is to work for Daboll...if you continue to hear that, and it comes along with losing, now that job is clearly available,” C-Mac said. “I would think that John Mara would absolutely love to hire Belichick and not have to worry about another head coach for a while…once you hire him, there is no firing him after a year or two years. You buy into him, and you’re done. You ride it through with Bill Belichick.”
So, what can Daboll do to turn off the potential heat of Belichick returning to coach a team he openly adores? For C-Mac, the answer is easy.
“If they show they drafted the right quarterback…if they go to him halfway through the year and he plays well, you do not exit that plan,” C-Mac said. “That’s what this franchise desperately needs.”
