The Brooklyn Nets acquired the No. 28 pick in the Julius Randle trade that was agreed to on Monday night, and with that pick, they ended up with Iowa State forward Joshua Jefferson.
The selection was technically made by Minnesota, as the Randle deal cannot become official until the new league year begins on July 6, but the pick trade was announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver prior to him announcing the No. 29 pick.
Jefferson spent two years at Saint Mary’s before two at Iowa State, and was a three-year starter between the two schools – finishing as a Second Team All-American and First Team All-Big 12 selection in 2026.
He averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 30.9 minutes per game for the Cyclones last season, and 14.7-7.4-3.9 in two seasons in Ames.
