BT and Sal are glad to see the Knicks come away with a win in game one, but neither left the victory feeling overly confident about the series, and the potential rest of the postseason with how they played.
“They played like crap almost the entire game! They are playing with fire,” Sal said. “There’s no chance this Knicks team can beat the Boston Celtics playing the way they played last night.”
Sal still believes the Knicks will move on because he doesn’t trust the Pacers to make New York pay for its lack of execution, but BT is worried that the matchups exploited by Indiana in game one could continue, and the Knicks won’t get bailed out by “terrible” officiating down the stretch.
“Forget about the Celtics,” BT said. “If the Knicks don’t tighten a lot of things up, they might not win this series.
“They didn’t accomplish anything last night. They were supposed to win, they’re supposed to win the series.”
