BT is fed up with Aaron Boone not holding players accountable

BT has largely sidestepped criticizing Aaron Boone when venting about the mediocre Yankees, focusing his frustration more towards the front office that provided the manager with a faulty and fragile roster.

But for BT, the support stops at making excuses for some of his players who simply aren’t getting the job done, specifically Giancarlo Stanton not hustling on the bases, and Carlos Rodon continuing to get rocked.

“Enough of Aaron Boone and these ridiculous, pathetic explanations of lack of performance or effort,” BT said. “I don’t want to hear it, Boone…he does it all the time. I actually listened to him describe Carlos Rodon’s outing yesterday, and he said he actually had good stuff, outs and he missed by a pitch or two.

“When people that are in charge of teams do that, I think it further lights our fire and makes us want to react more aggressively than we normally would.”

Boone told reporters that Stanton’s lack of hustle around third base on Saturday “wasn’t a great look,” but added that Stanton is preserving his health and trying to prevent another lower body injury. BT wants to at least see some constructive criticism from Boone, especially after Stanton was easily gunned down with the score tied and the Yankees in desperate need of wins.

“The manager can’t call him out a little bit?” BT said. “It’s a 1-1 game, 3.5 games back of a Wild Card…that is unacceptable in a pennant race.”
