BT rips 'pathetic' Mets, calls for team to trade everyone except Francisco Alvarez

After a lopsided loss to the Phillies on Wednesday night, the Mets fell to four games below .500, and sparked BT to open Thursday’s show by declaring that the team needed to hold an immediate fire sale, with nobody safe from being shipped out.

“The Mets are a disaster. The New York Mets are absolutely unwatchable and atrocious,” BT said. “They are beyond pathetic at this point. The Mets right now are in a place that is very dangerous for a New York sports team. They’re pathetic, and they’re boring…I can’t let them hide anymore.

“The Mets should be on the phone every waking moment… ‘You want Lindor? How much of his contract do I have to eat. You want McNeil? Take him. He stinks. You want Edwin Diaz? I respect him…not the same guy. Go. You want Nimmo? Take him.’”

For BT, nobody should be kept off limits except for Francisco Alvarez, and David Stearns should hit the nuclear button on the roster and start fresh.

“There is one player on the Mets that I would build around…and the poor kid is hurt. And that’s Francisco Alvarez,” BT said.

“The Mets season is over. They are done. They are boring. They stink…now it’s time to act on that.”
