C-Mac: Kirk Cousins would at least give Jets chance to resume Super Bowl push

C-Mac, like many other hosts at the FAN, wants to see the Jets make a splash for Kirk Cousins now that the scuffling Vikings will be without superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson for at least four weeks.

For C-Mac, the Jets are still in what he believes to be a three-year title window that began when they added Aaron Rodgers, and Cousins at least gives Gang Green somewhat of a chance to keep that a possibility in year one.

“He’s a quarterback that gives you a chance to win,” C-Mac said. “I don’t think anyone would argue with me that he gives the Jets a better chance to win than Zach Wilson moving forward.

“In a couple years, I don’t know how much money Sauce Gardner, or Garrett Wilson, or Breece Hall will want…you just don’t know. I like the team right now. When this defense gets it going, they are one of the best defenses in the league…they have a roster good enough to win.”

So, maybe Cousins isn’t a Super Bowl-caliber quarterback. But that doesn’t feel like a definite. With Wilson, it does, so the decision is a simple one for C-Mac.

“If you’re telling me Kirk Cousins isn’t good enough to get me a ring, I’ll take my chances with it over Zach Wilson,” C-Mac said. “I know Zach Wilson can’t get me a Super Bowl. Kirk Cousins, I might even think he’s not good enough - probably not - but there’s no maybes with Zach Wilson. He’s not good enough.”
