C-Mac: Knicks not good enough to make a run unless OG Anunoby AND Julius Randle are healthy
The Knicks have finally given some form of an update in regards to OG Anunoby, as tennis elbow is the new diagnosis from the team.
Anunoby has missed the last seven games after aggravating the surgically-repaired elbow, and will miss another after being ruled out against the Heat on Tuesday night.
Still, even with the regular season winding down, C-Mac is confident that Anunoby won't miss a beat as long as he is back for game one of the Knicks' first-round playoff series.
"He has now fit this team like a glove twice. When they first traded for him, and when he came back from surgery eight games ago," C-Mac said. "I have no problem resting him. Make sure that elbow is fine so it's ready for the playoffs…give it as long as it takes.
"I honestly believe if he returned in game one of the playoffs, he would be just as effective as if he came back for a couple games to get into rhythm."
But there is still the larger issue of Julius Randle, who is still not taking contact as he recovers from a separated shoulder. C-Mac says, if both Randle and Anunoby can't return, the hopes of a deep playoff run are done.
"That team is not good enough. Even with OG, it's not good enough," C-Mac said. "They need both guys to be back or this is going to be a disappointing end to the season."
