As the Evan and Tiki show prepares to celebrate A-Rod Day, C-Mac will be among those joining in commemorating the controversial yet accomplished Yankees career of Alex Rodriguez.
“I’m happy to celebrate A-Rod Day. That’s right, I love Alex Rodriguez,” C-Mac said. “There wouldn’t be a championship in ’09.
“Some of us live it. Some of us live this Team A-Rod life like I do.”
C-Mac says Rodriguez won him over nearly instantly as a Yankee fan, back when he conceded the shortstop position to Derek Jeter, despite being a defensively superior and all-around better baseball player.
“A-Rod wanted to be a Yankee…he was thrilled to be a Yankee,” C-Mac said. “He was willing to acquiesce his position at short and move over to third base. That’s all I needed to know. when Alex Rodriguez came here and deferred to The Captain and said ‘You know what? I’m the better shortstop, but it’s OK.’ And he was a terrific third baseman as well. He was a terrific player. He won two MVPs.”
