Reacting to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post’s report that Wink Martindale cursed out Brian Daboll and stormed out on Monday, C-Mac is even more dug in on the belief that Daboll is in the right, and that Martindale’s resignation is not a bad look for the head coach.

“I’m starting to think Wink orchestrated this whole thing and didn’t want to be with the Giants after this year,” C-Mac said. “I think Wink Martindale has a big ego, as someone who was getting head coaching interviews, especially after last season with the great job he did with the Giants. When you are the coordinator he is and the job the defense has done, and the lack of production from the offense, I think he probably had a big enough ego and didn’t want to hear from the head coach, who was running this offense nowhere. That’s his prerogative, but that’s the head coach.

“So Daboll goes to the defensive coaches and says ‘Does anybody have a problem with me?’ and not a single person says a damn thing. He went to Wink, he went to his right-hand man Drew Wilkins, and said ‘If you have a problem, let’s hash this thing out,’ and nobody has anything to say.”

C-Mac says Daboll is showing himself to be a leader, while Martindale seems to be showing himself to be emotional by not accepting members of his coaching staff being fired, even though Daboll fired his own close confidant in offensive line coach Bobby Johnson.

“I’m sorry, Wink Martindale comes off as the bad guy here…I don’t think it’s Brian Daboll,” C-Mac said.

“Who does Wink Martindale think he is? He acts like his defense is world-beaters…who the hell does he think he is that he can’t do the same thing the head coach is willing to do, and curse out the head coach and walk out the door?”
