C-Mac gets into heated debate with caller declaring Bryce Harper is better than Aaron Judge

Ralph in New Haven had a bone to pick with C-Mac on Wednesday morning, but wound up getting an education in Aaron Judge’s superior numbers to Bryce Harper’s.

Ralph emphatically declared that Harper is the much better player than Judge, but C-Mac couldn’t get past Ralph using career numbers as his barometer, considering Harper has been in the league much longer than Judge.

“Now you’re just flat-out lying,” C-Mac said after Ralph declared that Harper has better numbers. “You had me with maybe he’s underappreciated.

“He played five more years than Judge! Who cares? Look at his numbers right now. He has an .897 OPS. Judge has an OPS over 1.000. Bryce has 14 home runs, Judge has 21. You’re talking about his career, and he’s played five more years.”

If you compare the two since Judge’s rookie year in 2017, Judge has 274 home runs compared to Harper’s 199, even with Judge’s injury history. Judge also has an OPS 68 points higher than Harper in that span, a higher batting average, and more RBI. And that doesn’t include the defense.

“Judge is playing a Gold Glove caliber center fielder, and Bryce Harper has transitioned from the outfield defensively,” C-Mac said, noting Harper’s move to first base at just 31 years old. “Judge is a far superior defensive player.”
