Some key Jets players are dropping like flies at Thursday’s training camp.

Within the span of 30 minutes, three expected mainstays on the regular season roster left the field with trainers during Thursday’s practice, with defensive end Carl Lawson being carted off the field with a leg injury.

Denzel Mims and Sheldon Rankins both left the field with trainers as well.

Lawson has been the star of New York’s training camp so far this summer, and signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Jets this past offseason. According to reports at camp in Green Bay, where Gang Green is working out with the Packers, the atmosphere fell silent as Lawson was carted off with an injury to his left leg. He tore his left ACL while playing in college.

Per Connor Hughes of The Athletic and SNY, Lawson was injured during a pass rush in a red zone drill. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later reported that Lawson was sent to have an MRI on his Achilles, which could potentially be a season-ending injury.

Mims was having a strong performance at camp of late as well, as he was looking to take a big step forward in his second year in the league. He had missed time earlier in camp due to food poisoning. He limped off the field and rode a cart the rest of the way into the locker room, per SNY. But the New York Post later reported that Mims was taken out as a precaution, which should be a much-needed break from the bad news the Jets faced on Thursday.

Rankins signed with the Jets this offseason on a two-year deal. The defensive tackle was the 12th overall pick in 2016 and has dealt with injuries in recent years, appearing in 22 games the last two seasons while making just one start in that time. He started all 16 games the previous two seasons.
