Chris Kreider has been on an absolute tear to begin the postseason, and his hot streak continued on Saturday night, making Rangers playoff history with his latest torment of the rival Devils.

Kreider, who entered game three with four goals in the series, all on the power play, got his first at even strength when he beat Akira Schmid on a 2-on-1 breakaway off a Devils turnover early in the second period.

The goal gave the Blueshirts a 1-0 lead, and made Kreider the fastest Ranger in franchise history to reach five goals in a single postseason.

In game two, Kreider’s two power play goals gave him the most tallies on the man advantage in league history through the first two games of a postseason.

Kreider, coming off a fabulous playoff showing in 2022, hasn’t skipped a beat in 2023.
