Darryl Strawberry added to Mets Old Timers' Day roster

When the Mets take the field for Old Timers' Day in August, a former bonafide All-Star will be in uniform for the first time in over three decades.

Darryl Strawberry, one of the pillars of the 1986 championship team, has been added to the roster for the team's first Old Timers' Day since 1994. The outfielder was an All-Star in seven consecutive seasons for the Mets, and in his eight year Mets career, hit 252 home runs and posted an .878 OPS.

Strawberry led the league with 39 home runs in a monster 1988 season, when he also led the league with a .911 OPS.

Strawberry joins other recognizable names like Mike Piazza, Bobby Ojeda, Robin Ventura, Endy Chavez, and Daniel Murphy, among many others.
