Is there a hotter team in hockey than the New Jersey Devils right now?

The Devils won their seventh game in a row on Tuesday night with a 3-2 win over the Flames in Newark, matching the team’s longest winning streak since 2011.

New Jersey once again had to win in comeback fashion, moving to a perfect 5-0-0 on the year when allowing the first goal of the game. Nico Hischier called the team’s first period “embarrassing,” but they quickly turned it around before Hischier himself fired home the game winner just over midway through the third period.

The win moved the Devils to 10-3-0 on the year, tying the fewest games the franchise has ever needed to reach the 10-win mark in a single season. The last time came in the 1993-94 season.

After chants rang out in the Prudential Center last month calling for head coach Lindy Ruff’s job, the vibes in New Jersey have certainly changed in a hurry.
