Evan predicts Yankees in seven due to one key advantage over Dodgers

Evan Roberts wasted no time in revealing his World Series prediction at the start of Friday’s show.

“The New York Yankees will win the World Series in seven,” Evan said, holding to his initial gut feeling from the beginning of the week after the matchup was finalized.

But how did Evan come to that prediction? He says it’s not hard to see this hyped Fall Classic going the distance, because in many ways, the Yanks and Dodgers are “spitting images” of each other.

“The Yankees and the Dodgers, when you really think about it, are mirror images of each other,” Evan said. “They both have undeniable, unbelievable superstars like Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Like Juan Soto and Mookie Betts. They both have these great, winning first baseman, probably past their prime…and not fully healthy, in Anthony Rizzo and Freddie Freeman. Both have really good bullpens. Not exactly a lot of household names, but guys who have either resurrected their careers or are just beginning their careers.”

So, why are the Yankees his pick to come out on top? Because the deciding factor lies in the starting rotation, where Evan says the Yanks have the legit ace, and the Dodgers do not.

“But there’s one big difference, and that is why I declare that the Yankees will win in seven,” Evan said. “That one thing will toe the mound tonight, and that man’s name is Gerrit Cole.”

Cole hasn’t looked like his peak self in this postseason, as he is coming off an abbreviated season in which he was sidelined for months due to an elbow injury. But Evan believes Cole will be able to show his best when it matters most, and having him on the mound for at least two games will help the Yankees secure their first championship in 15 years.

“The one big difference is the true ace that the Yankees do have,” Evan said. “And that the Dodgers do not have.”
