Kyrie Irving recently told reporters that the media created “chaos” that overblew his standing with the Nets while he was demanding a trade.
Irving also added that Brooklyn would have been better off releasing him to avoid a lot of headaches.
For Evan, the only headache comes from having to keep hearing Irving exonerate himself from any blame from a situation in which he demanded to be removed from.
“Seriously, tell him to shut up,” Evan said. “It pisses me off how much me, Keith, and Shaun defended this guy. Shut up. I don’t want to hear from him ever again, and more importantly, I want to kick that ass tonight in Dallas.”
Irving plays the Nets on Friday night, for the first time since being traded. His tenure in Brooklyn included sitting out the bulk of the 2020-21 season because of his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine, serving a suspension for promoting a video containing anti-Semitic material, and eventually asking to be traded after it became clear that the Nets weren’t comfortable paying Kyrie what he felt he deserved, given how his tenure unfolded since he arrived.
“Everybody else. Blame everybody else but you,” Evan said. “It’s never you. It’s never you, Kai.”
