Evan painfully declares he won't buy Jets ending Patriots streak until he sees it

As Week 3 draws closer, and Evan looks back at the history of the Jets and Patriots, the less confident he is in Gang Green breaking the stretch of 14 straight games without a win against New England.

“This franchise has not won a football game against the Patriots since Barack Obama was president,” Evan said. “Since Eric Decker was catching a touchdown in the end zone in overtime. Since the New York Mets were the reigning National League Champions…this football team has not beaten the New England Patriots in well over 2,800 days.

“Last year, they needed to beat this football team. They couldn’t do it either time, and made up new, creative ways to lose to the Patriots. A John Franklin-Myers roughing the passer penalty, a game in which Robert Saleh falls asleep and doesn’t change quarterbacks, and they lose on a walk-off punt.”

So, until he sees anything different, Evan is going to assume that the painful streak will continue on Sunday when Bill Belichick and company come into MetLife.

“Whether the coach wants to admit, you want to admit it, or anyone else wants to admit it, until they do it, I don’t buy it. They can’t beat this football team,” Evan said. “They haven’t done it. I don’t want to hear the Brady excuse, because he hasn’t played for them in years, and they were losing to Cam Newton and Mac Jones.

“Call me crazy, but until they beat this freaking football team, I don’t believe they’re going to beat this freaking football team.”
