Evan has come to the sad reality that he and most Jets fans seem to know more about the team’s needs than ownership does.
How else can Evan explain Woody Johnson ripping Zach Wilson by saying that the Jets didn’t have a backup quarterback last season?
“Me, and many others, politely screamed about that a year ago,” Evan said. “We knew they didn’t have a backup quarterback in May. In June, we knew they didn’t have a backup quarterback.
“When you say something so casually that you could have changed and said something you should have known about in the moment…what pisses me off to no end, is that he said something he should have fixed nine months ago.”
Evan had clamored for Gang Green to add a backup to Aaron Rodgers throughout the summer, and it took just four snaps in Week 1 to realize why. Johnson didn’t seem to be pushing for the addition of a veteran backup at the time, so for him to throw shade at Wilson now, Evan says it “pisses me off to no end.”
“You said something you should have avoided,” Evan said. “And what we all knew you should have avoided, months and months ago.”
