Tony Sparano Jr. leaving Giants to be Colts' offensive line coach

It appears as if the Giants have another opening on their coaching staff.

According to Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record, assistant offensive line coach Tony Sparano Jr. is headed to Indianapolis to be their offensive line coach, the second Big Blue assistant to leave for new Colts head coach Shane Steichen’s staff this offseason.

Sparano Jr., whose father was once upon a time the Jets’ offensive coordinator, joined the Giants in 2022 after serving as an assistant OL coach in Carolina (2021) and Jacksonville (2017-20). He has also served as the Bills’ tight end coach (2015-16) and as an offensive assistant/intern for the Dolphins (2011) and Jets (2012-14).

Running backs coach DeAndre Smith had already left the Giants for the same position with the Colts earlier this offseason, with the Giants hiring former Panthers assistant Jeff Nixon – who worked with Brian Daboll in Miami way back in 2011 – to replace him.
