Tom Brady has retired, and both Gio and Jerry believe it’s for real this time.
With that in mind, does the longtime Jets tormenter have one last twist of the knife in store for his former divisional rival?
Gio and Jerry, after Al Dukes brought up the possibility, can’t rule it out.
Now that Brady has called it a career, the Raiders will scratch one potential name off their list of quarterbacks to replace Derek Carr. So, what if Las Vegas now shifts its focus to ensure an Aaron Rodgers trade, thus taking away the Jets’ chances of adding a much-needed veteran quarterback?
“With the Raiders being a possibility for Brady now not being a possibility…that would be one final ‘F you’ to the Jets if Tom Brady retiring and not going to the raiders means Aaron Rodgers goes to the Raiders,” Gio said.
Jerry isn’t as sold on the idea of Rodgers to the Raiders, but he acknowledges that it would be fitting to the narrative of Brady terrorizing Gang Green for two decades if his retirement led to the Jets still being stuck without a difference maker at quarterback.
“I don’t know about the Vegas coaching staff. I don’t know if there is someone on the staff that he loves like Nathaniel Hackett, but I still think it’s here,” Jerry said. “But that would be funny - well, not funny - but terrible for a Jet fan if that happened because of this.”
