Boomer and Gio were handing out game balls for the Giants’ win over the Browns, and Gio handed his to Malik Nabers after his breakout game on the road.
Nabers hauled in two touchdown grabs, including a sparkling catch in the corner of the end zone, to help Big Blue grab its first win of the season. Gio saw plenty to believe that a potential star is in the making in New York.
“Daniel Jones and Malik Nabers are creating something special there. They have a superstar on their hands in that wide receiver,” Gio said.
“This was a breakout performance. We saw a little bit of it last week against the Commanders...the Browns, even though they stink, are still considered one of the better defenses in the game, and he was unbelievable.”
Nabers had a costly drop against Washington in Week 2, but had an otherwise impressive performance. Week 3 was absolutely next level, getting open for eight catches, one that went for a game-high 28 yards, as he seems to have finally given Daniel Jones a legit No. 1 target.
“The one in the corner of the end zone could be one of the better catches of the year,” Gio said. “We got a little taste of it last week. We got full-blown superstar Malik Nabers on the road this week.”
