Gio rips 'dump' MetLife Stadium after poll reveals players rank it worst place to play

An anonymous players poll conducted by The Athletic revealed that MetLife Stadium is considered to be the worst place to play, and that was hardly a shock to Gio, who ripped the facility after seeing the results of the poll.

“I think it is an eyesore,” Gio said. To have two New York football franchises worth as much as they are, to share a dump like that place, is embarrassing for us as sports fans in this area. I’d love for them to split up and for the Jets to play somewhere else.

“They just built that thing…chances are they’re not going to just tear it down and build another one any time soon.”

The Jets can opt out of their lease after next year, though there is no indication that they would leave MetLife. Regardless, Gio says a city like New York should have a much more attractive stadium for its two football teams.

“You see some of these other stadiums. I’ve been to Atlanta, Minnesota, [Dallas], Arizona…these are all beautiful stadiums, and MetLife just looks like a radiator,” Gio said. “What are we doing?”
