Gio sounds off on Jets continuing to vent frustrations on social media

Mecole Hardman made noise on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday when he posted, “I can’t wait til I get a chance to really tell y’all what I really want to tell y’all, and this don’t got nothing to do with my current situation either.”

Of course, fans immediately assumed that it did in fact have to do with the wide receiver’s current situation, specifically his lack of playing time with the Jets so far in his debut season.

Hardman was a healthy scratch in Sunday’s win over the Broncos, and while frustration is understandable given the lack of playing time, Gio just can’t believe a Jet player is once again airing his frustrations on social media.

“Again! I just don’t understand how this hasn’t stopped,” Gio said. “One of two things is happening. Either Robert Saleh is telling these guys not to do this type of stuff on social media, and they’re ignoring him, or they’re just not addressing it. Because it happens multiple times a year.

“A lot of players don’t do this on other teams this much…a lot of these guys we’ve heard from, like Mekhi Becton, had no right to go on there and say ‘I am a left tackle.’ Mecole Hardman, another guy who hasn’t done a damn thing as a Jet, and now he’s going on there and saying stuff. I mean, come on.”

Gio has long wanted for Saleh to put his foot down in the Jets locker room to curtail players from going to social media to vent, but so far, it doesn’t seem like that is happening.
