Saquon Barkley made a playful jab at his former team when free agent quarterback Jameis Winston asked the former Giants running back where he thought Winston should sign this offseason.
Barkley noted that the Giants still need a quarterback, as they cut ties with Barkley’s good friend Daniel Jones during the season, as their QB question remains unanswered.
For Gio, Barkley’s comment is just the latest piece of evidence that Big Blue has become the ultimate punching bag across the NFL, to the point where they have seemingly surpassed the Jets.
“If I were Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll and anybody associated with the Giants, I would be so pissed off right now,” Gio said. “I know it’s their own doing...but the beating up of the Giants - they get beat up now more than the Jets.
“Because of what’s going on with Saquon, it’s all about the Giants.”
The Eagles and Barkley are one win away from winning a Super Bowl, and Gio can’t believe that so much of the discussion surrounding Philly’s star running back is about his former team, who he hasn’t played with in over a year,
“It’s like enough already. They’re getting crushed on the broadcast and all of these things,” Gio said. “If they weren’t already inspired enough to have a great offseason and get this thing going in the right direction, everywhere you go there’s another joke about the Giants and Saquon and how they screwed up. It’s all on a national level, and now Saquon is leaning into it.”
