The Super Bowl was a blowout from beginning to end, boasted a divisive halftime performance, and the broadcast was criticized for the score bug, among other aspects that came across for the millions watching on TV.
All in all, Boomer and Gio agreed that Sunday’s game was one of the worst Super Bowls ever, with Gio declaring that it was easily the worst of his lifetime.
“This was a horrible game,” Gio said. “Everything about this was horrible. There was the horrible Super Bowl in Atlanta, the 13-3 game, at least that game was close.
“As a whole, from the broadcast to the halftime show to the game to the commercials, this was the worst Super Bowl experience I have ever gone through. I don’t know how you can see it any differently unless you’re an Eagles fan.”
Super Bowl LIX was a 24-0 rout by halftime, and ended in a 40-22 rout by the Eagles, with many expecting the game to be incredibly close. Instead, it was the biggest lopsided affair in the Super Bowl since the Seahawks destroyed the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII, and while there were other greater margins of victory in Super Bowl history, Sunday’s score was only salvaged by some garbage time touchdowns when the game was well out of reach.
“The whole thing was flat,” Boomer said. “When the game stinks, then everything else around it feels like it stinks too.
“The whole thing was flat. The broadcast was flat. The game was flat. The commercials were terrible…this one will go down as one of the worst. It has to.”
