As the Jets season continues to spiral out of control, Gio wonders what the reasoning could be for the team to elect to keep Robert Saleh as head coach.
Is it because Aaron Rodgers believes in him? Is it because ownership wants to give the current regime another try with a capable quarterback this time around? Whatever the reason, Gio believes Saleh will remain head coach next season, even if he doesn’t believe he should.
“I don’t think that the Jets will fire Robert Saleh,” Gio said. “I don’t think they’ve got the guts to pull a big move like that.
“They gotta look at his full body of work though. Maybe Rob Saleh is feeling the heat…but there is a lot there. If someone goes to you and makes a list of pros and cons, what are the pros of keeping Robert Saleh right now? Anything? The defense has been good and he’s a defensive guy? Is that it?”
Even if Saleh has put together a quality defense over the last two seasons, Gio says the team as a whole continues to lose, and continues to be shrouded in drama, so the cons seem to clearly outweigh the pros.
“The team is absolutely horrendous…it’s a team game,” Gio said. “The team is terrible. They’re on a humongous losing streak, just like they were last year.”
