As the Jets get set to wrap up their miserable season against the Patriots this weekend, Gio wonders why there would be any reason to watch the game.
He also wonders if anyone on the field will have much motivation.
“How they play, what they look like, is not going to factor into the future of this team at all,” Gio said. “We know nothing is gonna change with the coaching staff, the front office, and we know who the starting quarterback is.
“Who has anything to play for in a Jets uniform on Sunday against the Patriots?”
Boomer says there should be some sources of motivation for players on the Jets side, when it comes to potential personal accolades that could be earned by finishing the season on a high note.
“I would think guys want to finish the season strong…there are some Jets players who have piqued my interest as far as All-Pro teams,” Boomer said. “There are a couple players - whether it be Sauce Gardner, Quinnen Williams or Quincy Williams - deserve that attention. There are a lot of things that players are still playing for, and they are resume builders. I wouldn’t take that for granted if I were those players…I would remind those players that there are still things to play for, both for the team and individually.”
