The Islanders and their fans had been hungry for a new home for what seemed like forever.
Forever finally arrived last season with the opening of UBS Arena, but heading into season two, the franchise and their loyal supporters are now hoping for the team to return to the form that took them to back-to-back NHL final four appearances in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

What the fans won’t have to worry about, whether the Islanders win or lose, is leaving UBS Arena hungry after a game. At a media event on Wednesday, UBS Arena, along with their hospitality partner Delaware North, unveiled their new culinary offerings for the Islanders’ 50th anniversary season.
“For us, culinary experience is one of the most important aspects of an event and the experience that guests have at our events and we pride ourselves in being best in class in this,” said Kim Stone, President of UBS Arena.
“We’re so excited because not only are we heading into our first-year anniversary of UBS Arena, but we’re going to be celebrating, this entire year, the storied history of the Islanders.”

Some of the new food and beverage offerings this season at UBS Arena will include…
*Northwell Health Healthy Choice Salads including Chicken Waldorf, Beef, goat cheese and citrus and roasted squash, Kale and Quinoa.
*A Buffalo chicken cheesesteak sandwich served on a seeded roll topped with white cheddar sauce, blue cheese, crumbles and green onions.
*A chicken cutlet sandwich topped with fresh mozzarella, baby arugula, pickled red onion, beefsteak tomatoes and balsamic glaze served on crusty, rustic Italian Batstone.
*Reuben Sandwich with pastrami, swiss cheese, thousand island dressing and sauerkraut.
*A giant and shareable family-sized nacho platter.
*Chicken and waffles served with spicy maple syrup and pickled cherry tinga or spicy chorizo.
*A Mighty Quinn footlong hot dog topped with pulled pork or mac and cheese.
Many of the new items that are new for 2022-23 at UBS Arena will have a connection to the Islanders and their 50th anniversary.
*A souvenir ice cream helmet with blue and orange swirled vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and blue and orange sprinkles, served in a souvenir Islanders helmet.
*A limited edition 50th Anniversary souvenir soda cup.
*Mason Jar Cocktails and limited edition 50th Anniversary Shaker.
There’s no doubt that when an Islanders fan goes to a game, their primary expectation is to come home happy with a win. While there can never be a guarantee of the outcome of the game, the Islanders, UBS Arena and Delaware North continue to do whatever they can to make sure that the overall experience of coming to an Islanders game is second to none.
Part of that experience is satisfying the food and beverage needs of the blue and orange faithful.
“At Delaware North, we take great pride in what the culinary experience can add to the fan experience here at the arena,” said Ted Donnelly, Executive Chef of UBS Arena.”
“There’s no better culinary experience than the New York metropolitan area and we hope that we’re bringing the diversity in the area and the offerings in the New York area to UBS Arena and to our fans. We’re constantly looking for new ways to bring new twists to the offerings at the arena including some local favorites that we put a twist on.”
For Islanders fans, nothing will be as detectable as a great 50th Anniversary season with a return to the playoffs and a shot at winning the Stanley Cup. But, at the very least, Islanders fans should know that they will able to satisfy their appetite and quench their thirst with the many new food and beverage items this season at UBS Arena.
