Jazz Chisholm trolls Dave Portnoy for viral rant complaining about Yankees torpedo bats

Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy posted a rant about the Yankees torpedo bats that quickly went viral, and one of the faces of the Bombers’ oddly shaped lumber clapped back on Monday morning.

Jazz Chisholm Jr., fresh off a three-homer performance in the Yanks’ opening series sweep of the Brewers, responded to Portnoy’s video on X (formerly known as Twitter) with the comment, “This is a high school baller talking” with a laughing emoji.

“Yankees have a long history of cheating…and this is just the latest,” Portnoy said. “It’s stupid for the game. If you get sawed off and hit the ball on the label, that means you stink.

“I should be in the big leagues with this thing.”

Portnoy, famously a Red Sox fan, went off on the Yankees’ newly-shaped bats that are making waves across baseball (even though they were used by players on other teams last season), and he is far from the only one who has taken issue with the bats used by the likes of Chisholm, Anthony Volpe, Paul Goldschmidt, and others. Of course, it should be noted that the Yankee bats are well within the rules of Major League Baseball, and the person that designed them is now with the Marlins, so the use of the torpedo bat extends beyond the Bronx.

But after the Yanks smacked 15 home runs in a three-game sweep of Milwaukee, torpedo bats were all the craze across baseball, and Chisholm chimed in by trolling a complaining Portnoy, who, as Chisholm joked, doesn’t have the highest of credentials when it comes to a baseball background.
