It took just two games for touted Jets rookie receiver Garrett Wilson to have his breakout performance, introducing himself to the NFL as one of the game’s next bright receiver stars.

And, as Gang Green running back Michael Carter told Zach Gelb, Wilson isn’t afraid to tell you about it when he beats you.

“He’s a good athlete, man,” Carter said. “He just loves to compete. That’s the one thing that’s stood out to me. He talks a lot of trash and he backs it up.”

Wilson had plenty of trash-talking ammo last weekend against the Browns, hauling in two touchdown catches while racking up 102 receiving yards in a dramatic comeback win. The 10th overall pick has already shown massive potential, and Carter believes Wilson has the talent to be one of the top receivers in the league.

“He’s been doing well,” Carter said. “He came in and has the right head on his shoulders…he’s really put his head down and done the work, and earned a lot of respect from his teammates.”
