The Jets offense, after being shut out by the Broncos on Sunday afternoon, are averaging a putrid 6.6 points per game.

The offense, led by Zach Wilson’s tough start to his rookie season, once again struggled to put anything together on Sunday, getting shut out after managing just six points in a loss to the Patriots the week before. New York totaled just 162 yards of offense, while accumulating 89 penalty yards.

“It was tough,” Corey Davis said. “Tough sledding. A lot of it was self-inflicted errors, which has been the theme for the last couple weeks. We’re a good team. We have a lot of talent, we just have to put it together. That’s the most frustrating part, because we know we have talent.

“Zero points? We’ve got too much talent for that. So we have to get back to it.”

After being picked off four times last week, Wilson was picked off twice again on Sunday, gaining just 160 yards through the air in another troubling performance that hasn’t instilled much faith in the fanbase that he is a potential franchise savior.

When it looked like New York was finally piecing together a productive drive in the second quarter, with Wilson completing six straight passes, a delay of game knocked the team out of field goal range on fourth down, forcing a punt and keeping the Jets off the board once again.

“The whole game on offense was disappointing and we want to do better than that,” Wilson said. “That happened at the end of that drive shows what's happening in the whole game, it's us killing ourselves. It really comes down to that.”

Now 0-3 on the year with an offense looking even worse than last year’s group, it’s hard to see the new regime’s vision coming together on the field. The players maintain confidence that improvements are coming, but it was hard to see any on Sunday, especially on the offensive side.

“Frustrating. It’s just a lack of execution,” Wilson said. “We’re all learning. We’re trying to get better very single week. It may be hard for people to see that, but we’re learning a lot from those games. People are gonna hate. It is what it is. But we’re just gotta keep that confidence, get back in there Monday and try to get that win.”
