The Jets posted the third worst completion percentage in the league last season, the sixth fewest touchdowns, and had the second fewest passes for over 40 yards.
Elijah Moore says that is going to change in a big way thanks to the team’s revamped offense.
“I feel like we’re all WR1’s,” Moore said. “Having all three of us, plus all four of us, whatever the lineup is gonna be. The way we’re going and the way we’re flowing, I feel like it’s gonna be unstoppable.”
Gang Green took a receiver with the 10th overall pick, selecting Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson, to pair with Moore, a second-round pick last year who logged 538 yards through the air in another lost Jets season.
But after the season ended, Joe Douglas and company drafted Wilson, signed tight end C.J. Uzomah and wide receiver Corey Davis, who will likely complete the team’s top three receivers alongside Wilson and Moore.
Of course, the x-factor for the Jets offense will be Zach Wilson, who battled injury in a lackluster rookie season after being taken second overall in the draft. Moore’s goals for the upcoming season are paired with the progression of Wilson, just like the team itself.
“I feel like I have so much to do and accomplish, but really just understand the offense in and out,” Moore said. “When you understand the offense, you’re gonna ball. Get on the same page as Zach and score a lot of touchdowns.”
