Jets fans who shared Gio’s sentiment that Gang Green had to make a quarterback change will have to wait at least another week.
According to multiple reports, the Jets are sticking with Joe Flacco in Week 2 against the Browns, after Robert Saleh didn’t completely dismiss a potential change, but did say the veteran backup would likely get the nod again.
Flacco threw the ball 59 times in a Week 1 loss where the offense struggled to get anything going in a lopsided loss to the Ravens, and some hoped Mike White would get a chance until Zach Wilson returns from a knee injury, hopefully by Week 4.
But for now, Flacco will be under center again, and according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, making the switch to White was never “strongly considered.”
