C-Mac: Joel Embiid isn't perfect fit, but Knicks can't wait forever to pounce on star

Like many at the station, C-Mac doesn't love the idea of the Knicks selling off half of their team to bring in reigning MVP Joel Embiid, should the Sixers star center ask out of Philly given the drama surrounding James Harden and the team.

However, C-Mac doesn't know how much longer the Knicks can wait for the perfect superstar fit, so Embiid just might have to be that big splash.

"I don't love Embiid for the Knicks," C-Mac said. "While I don't love it, we know how great he's been.

"Is he the guy you make the move for to bring a superstar in here? I don't know. It's not my first choice, but we know the NBA is built on superstars, and we've been playing this game with the Knicks forever, from back when LeBron made The Decision."

Embiid has his injury concerns, and has struggled in the playoffs at times, but, paired with Jalen Brunson, the Knicks would have a legitimate star duo, after spending over a decade trying to accomplish such a feat (after failing to find a star to complement Carmelo Anthony for years). It might not be perfect, but the Knicks may not have the luxury of waiting much longer, or their current core of youngsters may pass through before enjoying an actual window of contention.

"Ultimately, knowing that you need a superstar to win, and that I do think him and Brunson would make an interesting duo, I don't love it, but at some point, don't you have to take the chance?" C-Mac said. "How long do you wait for the perfect situation?"
