The Knicks have dropped three in a row, none as embarrassing as the loss to the Hawks on Wednesday night in which New York watched a 23-point lead devolve into an 18-point deficit.
One of the main culprits in the eyes of Boomer and Gio? Evan Fournier, the team's prized free agent acquisition last offseason.
"You see him running around out there," Boomer said. 'You're not really sure what he's doing…he's standing around. Get involved, maybe?"
Fournier was a game-worst -20 on Wednesday, and was taken out of the game with the Knicks holding a two-point edge, returned with the Knicks up 17, and by the time he exited again, the lead had shrunk to six.
"Evan Fournier is a liability," Gio said. "Tom Thibodeau I don't trust at this point with his rotations…I just don't know what he's thinking. There's a lot of times I'm questioning what he's doing."
That's three losses in a row for the Knicks, and until the team can show it can compete against good teams, and until Thibodeau shows a willingness to shuffle the deck, Gio isn't expecting much.
"My expectations are very low for this basketball team right now," Gio said. "Wake me up when they make some noise."
