Knicks center Jericho Sims underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum and cuff tendon in his right shoulder on Wednesday, and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in the fall.
The team made the announcement Thursday morning, following the Knicks’ series-ending win over Cleveland on Wednesday night.
Sims, 24, played 52 games this season, averaging 3.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game, the last one coming on April 7.
The former No. 58 overall pick in the 2021 Draft signed a three-year, partially-guaranteed deal with the Knicks last summer, and participated in this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He has played 92 games in two seasons in New York, averaging 2.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game.
