A pair of veterans who played a key role in the Knicks' first playoff appearance in eight years will apparently be back with the team next season -- and potentially beyond.
The Knicks were in agreement with guard Alec Burks and center Nerlens Noel on a pair of three-year deals, according to reports.
Burks' deal is for $30M, while Noel will be paid $32M over the life of his contract, according to Adrian Wojarnowski of ESPN.
The moves were mostly expected after reports in recent days had confirmed the Knicks' interest in re-signing the veteran contributors.
Burks, who turned 30 last month, bounced around before latching on with the Knicks last season. The scoring wing averaged 12.7 points in 25.6 minutes per game, providing some instant offense off the bench, a role he's filled throughout most of his career. After spending his first seven seasons with the Utah Jazz, the 10-year vet spent time with the Cavs, Kings, Sixers and Warriors before signing with New York.
Noel, 27, provides rim protection and tenacious defense at the center position. He returns to the Knicks after signing with them prior to last season, following stints with the Thunder, Mavericks and Sixers. Philly drafted the Kentucky product with the sixth overall pick back in 2013.
The Knicks were said to be interested in a handful of household names in free agency, including Chris Paul, Dennis Schroder, and Evan Fournier.
